5 Reasons You Should Move to San Mateo County Now!

As I resident of San Mateo County myself, I may be a bit biased about how wonderful it is to live here. But it really is a wonderful, blooming part of California that should be given more consideration. We have so much to offer here and we’re growing quickly. Apparently, I’m not the only one who thinks this is a destination for families. But don’t just take my opinion to heart. Check out these five reasons you should consider calling the moving van today!

1. We have a low unemployment rate.
The national average as far as unemployment rates go is currently a little over four and a half percent. Many areas of the country are experiencing unemployment rates just like that. But San Mateo County is noticeably smaller. Our unemployment rate is only slightly above two and a half percent right now! And that’s because we’re constantly growing. Companies are looking to hire right now so it’s a great time to job hunt here and settle down.

2. We’re near so many beautiful destinations.
It can’t be ignored that we’re in the middle of California. One of the closest landmarks to us is the one and the only Golden Gate Bridge. If you’ve ever wanted to see this classic landmark, then move here and it’ll only be a day trip away! There’s nothing better than being close to places that people spend their lives daydreaming about. We’re also close by to Half Moon Bay and Big Basin Redwoods State Park. There’s plenty to see when you’re a local. That’s for sure.

3. We are a strong community.
If there’s one thing San Mateo County is, it’s a strong community that will welcome you like family. There is always some festival, fair, party, celebration, or other event going on where locals come together to share laughs, smiles, stories, and quality time. In fact, the San Mateo County Fair just finished up and it was a blast! There were concerts and free contests to enter like watermelon eating and hula hooping. Meeting our local vendors was a wonderful experience and it happens every year.

4. There are plenty of ways to get in touch with nature.
I myself am a lover of the outdoors. I’ve spent time visiting national parks all over the country, but you can find nature almost in your backyard as a resident of San Mateo County. There are dozens of nature parks that offer hiking, biking, skating, picnicking, BBQ areas, and more. You can even go bird watching while riding a horse at many of these parks. It doesn’t get much better than that when you want to get in touch with your outdoorsy side.

5. Our weather is simply perfect.
Don’t let the fact that we reside in California fool you. In fact, our average summer high temperature is only 79 degrees. Yes, you read that read. A whopping 79 degrees. It’s warm, but it’s never an overly sweltering heat. It’s great for getting outside and spending time at the pool or at the park, but you won’t feel like you’re going to pass out from the sun. (Still stay hydrated!) It’s also great for seniors because the heat is less harsh on their bodies. You’ll be spoiled by our local weather, so once you’ve moved here you can never go back. But is that so bad?

What are you waiting for? It’s clear that San Mateo County is one of the most rich and beautiful counties to live in. And we have plenty of space waiting for you to claim. Come join a community that you’ll never want to leave behind. You won’t regret it!
